Jonathan Melo is an Actor, Singer-Songwriter, and Dancer based in New York City, who's talent always captivates and moves his audiences on stage and on camera. Jonathan was born and raised in Peabody, Massachusetts, in a Dominican-American household. His parents, both immigrants, taught him at a very young age that with perseverance and passion you can do anything. Nicknamed, 'Melo', by his friends and peers he was always seen as very creative and driven with a bright energy.
Jonathan started playing piano and writing music at the age of ten. It did not take long before he fell in love with acting and started performing in local theaters in Boston, Massachusetts. His passion for acting led him to Marymount Manhattan College where he received his BA in Acting with a minor in Musical Theatre. Never limiting himself, he indulged in the dance opportunities in NYC and trained intensely as a dancer. While studying at Marymount Manhattan College he was blessed to perform across New York City Theaters, Off-Broadway and Live Performance Venues along side Frank Wildhorn, Patricia Birch, and Titus Burgess. Shortly after he went on to study under renowned acting coach Anthony Abeson.
His recent credits include a principle role as Monté in the off-off broadway play Alexandria by Vince Gatton, a principle role as Shortstop in 2018 Superbowl Commercial 'Every Day Athletes', a recurring role in web series 'Fuck Boys Need Not Apply' as Alexis, a co-star role on CBS's BLUE BLOODS, a supporting role as Murphy in the new musical Sweetie, a supporting role as Don Diego in the musical SkippyJon Jones: Snow What?! by Emmy Award Winner Kevin Del Aguilar and as a Lead Production Vocalist for Celebrity Cruise Line.
