Kitchen Theatre Company is beginning its 28th Season with a musical! Girlfriend, with book by Todd Almond and music & lyrics by Matthew Sweet, takes place in the summer of 1993 in small town Nebraska. Mike and Will have just graduated from high school and couldn’t be more different: Mike is an athlete, headed off to college in the fall. Will is a quiet boy who doesn’t know where he’s headed next. Summer, 1993; small town Nebraska. College-bound, football playing Mike has everything figured out. At least until he meets Will, a quiet boy from his graduating class. This indie-pop musical based on the album "Girlfriend" by Matthew Sweet captures the thrill of first love–and how we discover each other and ourselves through the mixtapes we make.
Jonathan Melo will be playing the role of Monté in the new play Alexandria which will be premiering this summer August 5-18 at the IRT Theatre in New York City.

Something has to burn.
In a small-town library in the deep South, two librarians maintain an unlikely close friendship, despite their many differences. But when a controversial wedding, a young queer runaway, and an ominous cyberattack come crashing through their front door, can that friendship survive?
New York’s Everyday Athletes—Keeping with the Pace
New York moves fast, and you have to be an athlete just to keep up with the pace. If you’re not bobbing and weaving through crowds, you’re racing up subway stairs. And, if you're ever sidelined, the orthopedic specialists at NYU Langone are here to get you back on your feet.
Principle Role as Shortstop Jonathan Melo
